Girard-Perregaux: 60 Years of Racing in 7 Days

The brief from Girard-Perregaux was clear: produce a 60-second Instagram Reel tracing their historical ties to the automotive world. The constraint was equally direct: we had exactly one week from the initial brief to the final delivery.

The Facts

When dealing with a legacy that includes Shell, Ferrari, and Aston Martin, the challenge isn’t finding content—it’s selecting it. We were provided with archival assets covering everything from the 1937 Shell challenge to modern-day partnerships.

At L'Imagerie Films, our role was to transform these static archives into a rhythmic sequence designed for social media.

The Production Process

To meet the seven-day deadline, the entire workflow was handled internally. We focused on a clean, mechanical rhythm that mirrors the precision of the timepieces themselves.

  • Motion Design: Our motion designer worked on giving the archival images a sense of movement that felt modern while respecting the vintage nature of the source material.
  • Editing: The editor focused on the narrative flow, ensuring the transition from the 1930s to 2021 felt seamless rather than like a rushed history lesson.
  • Audio & Voiceover: Our sound designer managed the script, voiceover recording, and final audio mix. In luxury watchmaking, the soundscape must be as precise as the visuals.

Technical Takeaway

We aren't here to claim we reinvented the brand's history in a week. We simply executed a technical brief with high efficiency. This project is a straightforward example of how we handle social media content production: we prioritize the rhythm, respect the heritage of the assets, and hit the deadline.
